First air travel alone

6th was my visa interview date so I had to go to Islamabad. Woke up at 2:30 at night, I had 5 O clock PIA flight and that reached there at 7:00. I did not have any luggage, just a hand bag, so I was the first one to get out of the airport. Reached the convention center a little later. It was quite unexpected, bags and mobile phones were entrusted to some people before getting in to the shuttle. The shuttle took us in the enclosure towards the embassy. Then there was a really long wait after i got interviewed. They said I’ll hopefully get a visa before the GYLC starts.

When returning to the convention center, the shuttles tire’s went flat, so we had to wait for another shuttle to come.

Papa John’s! Wow!

I had been warned by my brother that it is not good because of which I had canceled my plan to go there twice. I had tried Papa Johns once in Dubai which i did not like at all. Even then yesterday i decided to go there with a few friends. It turned out to be a wonderful evening.

For starters we had ordered cheese sticks and chicken wings but the waiter brought us cheese sticks and some potato thing. They made that complementary for us when we told the waiter we had not ordered that. For some unknown reason they do not make thin crust regular sized pizzas so we had to order a large one. See our bad luck, instead of a thin crust the waiter served us with a thick crust pizza. We had to call the manager. Now this pizza was made complementary for us. Apart from this we also got a free pitcher of Pepsi free.

Record uptime

Today it had been more than six days since my computer was running, it somehow was closed when I came back from school, sadly I could not complete a week, only a few hours were left for it. For the first time in my life I have found windows to be so stabilized, during the weekend I worked on a software project, which mean there were tens of software I had opened, and a lot of them would be running at the same time, I was connected to the internet most of the time too with Shareaza downloading some files in the background. And it was being used more than normal too because Shuaib is here from LUMS and he hates his laptop now, so he spent the whole day on my PC.

Studying on the floor

Today the physics class was more interesting than usual. It got over before we knew it and we did not take a break either, not because there was a clown to entertain us but because we decided to sit on the floor for a change. The class went on like usual at first discussing some current issues, then learning something new, which this time was a projectile motion formula, then we proceeded to do questions. School as a whole was not bad at all today. The Language teacher not coming made the Monday good too. Maybe also because I spent a lot of time in Taimur

“Wave thing” and Sports in school

Yesterday was pretty intresting, not bad like other days, in school the first period was French, we had a test and i did pretty badly, but I did put all my efforts in. The we were supposed to have a Economics class, Sir Bajwa had told us that he would be late 30 minutes or more, and so he was, he came after the period had finished, so having a nice time playing in the Eco period we happily went to the Business Management class early. There I found very intresting, the “wave” thing, that my friends were making. It happens like this, the first person in the row takes his hands up and brings them down, the others in the row do the same but after a slight delay from the one sitting on hist left, we made a slight “wooo” sound as we did it, so it made a very intresting wave for the people who look at us from the front.

Natual Disasters and Global Warming

First the tsumani, then Katrina and now an Earth quake, what is the world comming to, isnt that too much for the year 2005? I hope there is nothing more in store for us. I can recall a documentary on Discovery a few years back about the increase in natural disasters because of increase in pollution and global warming and how the climate pattern would be affected. We can see the results already. Not to forget that we received rain from western depression in winter like never before and what happend to the monsoons in Karachi? i missed the rain but it was better having a lot of clouldy days without much rain.

Piece of Art from a piece of grill

At first sight this thing looks very curious, take a closer look at the picture and you can see that I am holding the whitish object in my hand, the background is a wooden table so that it is more clearly visible. I know nobody would have guessed till now what it is. This is a twisted piece of a metal rod which used to be a part of the grill of the window (we have these in Pakistan to stop burglars from getting in) of the common room of the International School. Its not that students here are really strong, the grills are weak and sometimes students break them play with them and make out weird shapes from them.

The only Higher math student

Shaadan left school and that makes me the only higher maths student of DP1, now isnt that cool. Im gonna be so lonely, i’ll be the only person who would have a class in the second period on thrusday. I shouldnt complain why he had to go to Lecole, I find school really boring too, we were always having fun in PAF Chapter.

Ramadan is probably starting tomorrow, but we didnt get the school timings cut down even after a petition. The members of the national assembly did’nt even go to Sir Taimur to discuss the matter and he wont listen to the non parliment members. I wonder if i’ll be able to co
